Beekeeping
Beekeeping (or apiculture, from Latin , bee) is the maintenance of honey bee colonies, commonly in hives, by humans. A beekeeper (or apiarist) keeps bees in order to collect honey and other products of the hive (including beeswax, propolis, pollen, and royal jelly), to pollinate crops, or to produce bees for sale to other beekeepers. A location where bees are kept is called an apiary or "bee yard".

Imker
Der Imker beschäftigt sich mit der Haltung, der Vermehrung oder der Züchtung von Honigbienen und der Produktion von Honig und weiterer Bienenprodukte. Imker ist eine Wortzusammensetzung aus dem niederdeutschen Begriff Imme für „Biene“ und dem mittelniederdeutschen Wort kar für „Korb, Gefäß“. Imker darf zwar jeder ohne eine spezielle Ausbildung sein, trotzdem gibt es auch einen zugehörigen Lehrberuf mit der amtlichen Bezeichnung Tierwirt, Fachrichtung Imkerei.

Apiculture
L'apiculture, branche de l’agriculture, est l’élevage d’abeilles à miel par l’homme pour exploiter les produits de la ruche. L’apiculteur doit procurer à l’abeille un abri, des soins et veiller sur son environnement. Puis, il récolte une partie mesurée de ces produits : miel, pollen, cire, gelée royale et propolis.

Pszczelarstwo
Pszczelarstwo - rzemiosło rolnicze zajmujące się hodowlą pszczół, wywodzące się od bartnictwa.
Pszczoły utrzymywane są w ulach. Zbiór uli nazywany jest pasieką. W zależności od stosowanej gospodarki pasiecznej rozróżnić możemy pasieki stacjonarne i pasieki wędrowne. Pasieki wędrowne są przewożone w okresie wiosennym i letnim w miejsca zbierania pożytku i są jednym z podstawowych sposobów zapylania dużych upraw takich roślin jak rzepak czy gryka. Produkują miód także ze spadzi (iglastej, liściastej).
