Orange España is a mobile network operator in Spain. It was previously known as Amena (pleasant in an amusing way in Spanish) until 2005, when it was bought by France Télécom. Its competitors are Movistar, Vodafone Spain and Yoigo. France Telecom gave the name of their cellphone brand to Amena.Its legal headquarters are in Pozuelo de Alarcón, near Madrid.Orange itself is not a Spanish word, its equivalent is naranja although in advertisements and announcements, Orange is pronounced , an approximation to the English pronunciation. In Spanish, the ge would normally be pronounced as a strong hey, the h sounding like the j in jalapeño.
