Le mot amalgame (du latin amalgama) est employé dans plusieurs domaines :- En métallurgie, un amalgame est un alliage métallique.
- En dentisterie, l’amalgame dentaire ;

- En communication, le mot amalgame désigne le fait d'associer abusivement des personnes, des groupes ou des actions de nature différente.
