Alpuente is a town and municipality in the province of Valencia, part of Valencia (autonomous community), Spain.It was the capital of a Spanish Muslim taifa or kingdom in the 11th century, ruled by the dynasty of Beni Kasim, an offshoot of the more famous group that ruled the Ebro Valley as the Banu Qasi some centuries before.
