In Greek mythology, the name Alke (Ἁλκή "prowess, courage"), also transliterated as Alce, may refer to:
  • Alke, the spirit and personification of the abstract concept of courage. In the Iliad, she was depicted on Athena's aegis alongside Ioke, Eris and Phobos.
  • Alke, daughter of Cybele and Olympus. She was given a second name, Cybele, after her mother.
  • Alke, an Amazon.
  • Alke, one of Actaeon's dogs.

Aktaion
Aktaion (altgriech. Άκτέων oder Άκταίων, lat. Actaeon) ist ein griechischer Heros. Sein Vater war der Hirte Aristaios, ein Sohn des Apollo und der thessalischen Nymphe Kyrene (Diodoros 4, 81, 1-3), seine Mutter Autonoë war eine Tochter des Kadmos, des Gründers und Königs von Theben und der Harmonia , der Tochter des Ares (Pausanias 10, 17, 3). Er wurde von dem Kentaur Cheiron erzogen, der ihn besonders in der Kunst der Jagd unterrichtete.

Griffon (mythologie)
Le griffon ou grype est une créature fantastique présente dans plusieurs cultures anciennes. Il est imaginé et représenté avec une forme tenant de l'aigle à l'avant (tête, ailes et serres) et du lion à l'arrière. Avec quelquefois des variantes le griffon gardera de tout temps la particularité reconnaissable d'être hiéracocéphale.

Grip
En grip (från grekiska γρύψ (grýps), latin gryphus) är ett fabeldjur som delvis är ett lejon, delvis en fågel; vanligen avbildad med ett lejons bakkropp, bakben, svans och öron, och en örns (fram)kropp, (fram)ben, vingar och huvud.

Gryf (mitologia)
Gryf –  mityczne zwierzę przedstawiane jako lew z głową, przednimi łapami i skrzydłami orła. Niektóre źródła dodają końskie bądź kocie uszy.

Jego pierwsze wizerunki pochodzą ze starożytnej Mezopotamii oraz Indii i liczą około 6 tysięcy lat. Gryf był wyobrażeniem babilońsko-assyryjskiej bogini Tiamat. W sztuce tych kultur spotyka się gryfy oraz uskrzydlone lwy z ludzką głową. Gryf jest strażnikiem bursztynu. Starożytni wierzyli, że włada Scytią. W mitologii greckiej gryf strzeże podziemnych skarbów Apollina, a w starożytnym Rzymie jest opiekunem boga mórz Neptuna.
