adjective

In grammar, an adjective is a word whose main syntactic role is to modify a noun or pronoun (called the adjective's subject), giving more information about what the noun or pronoun refers to. Collectively, adjectives form one of the traditional eight parts of speech, though linguists today distinguish adjectives from words such as determiners that used to be considered adjectives but that are now recognized to be different.

En grammaire, on appelle adjectif une catégorie de mot qui s'adjoint au nom pour exprimer une qualité (adjectif qualificatif), une relation (adjectif relationnel) ou pour permettre à celui-ci d'être actualisé dans une phrase (adjectif déterminatif). Das Adjektiv (lat.), deutsch: Eigenschafts- oder Beiwort, früher in der Schule auch Wiewort (wie ist etwas...), ist in der Sprachwissenschaft die Wortart, welche die Beschaffenheit oder eine Beziehung eines (konkreten) Dinges, einer (abstrakten) Sache, eines Vorganges oder Zustandes usw. beschreibt. Es bezieht sich somit auf Substantive oder Pronomen. Adjektive sind deklinierbar und gehören zur Gruppe der Nomen. Im Deutschen werden Adjektive kleingeschrieben.

Przymiotnik - część mowy określająca cechy i właściwości ludzi, zwierząt, roślin, rzeczy, zjawisk. W językach indoeuropejskich przymiotniki są zwykle odmienne przez liczby, rodzaje, a często też przypadki, podlegają stopniowaniu. Przymiotnik może w nich też pełnić funkcję rzeczownika, np. w zdaniu "Robin Hood zabierał bogatym i dawał biednym" przymiotniki "bogatym" i "biednym" użyte zostały w roli rzeczowników.

In grammatica con il termine aggettivo si definiscono quelle parole che si aggiungono al nome per esprimere una qualità (aggettivo qualificativo) o per permettere a quest'ultimo d'essere specificato in una frase (i cosiddetti "aggettivi determinativi" o "indicativi"). L'aggettivo si distingue dai cosiddetti determinanti (come l'articolo e la preposizione) per la sua collocazione all'interno della frase.
