acoustic noise

Acoustic noise, is any sound in the acoustic domain, both wanted (music, bird song, amplified speech, etc) and unwanted. Unwanted noise includes noise pollution in an otherwise quiet environment, unwanted noise on audio systems, appliance noise, factory noise, crowd noise and so on. It is important to recognise that the term "noise" is also used to refer to other, non-audible forms, especially in electronics and in the radio/radar spectrum.
