Acceleration
In physics, acceleration is the rate of change of velocity with time. In one dimension, acceleration is the rate at which something speeds up or slows down. For example, a car driving away (from standstill) is increasing its speed and is thus accelerating. Similarly, a car braking to stop in front of a traffic light is still said (in physics) to undergo acceleration, although now a negative one. In common speech, it is said to be decelerating.

Beschleunigung
Beschleunigung ist die Änderung der Geschwindigkeit eines Körpers. Das Wort wird, sogar innerhalb der physikalischen Fachsprache, in zwei etwas verschiedenen Bedeutungen benutzt:
- Im alltäglichen Wortsinn, aber auch z. B. in dem Begriff Teilchenbeschleuniger, ist eine Erhöhung des Betrages der Geschwindigkeit gemeint;
- im allgemeineren Sinn bezeichnet Beschleunigung jede Änderung des Geschwindigkeitsvektors, also auch eine Abnahme des Betrages (Verzögerung oder Abbremsung) oder eine Richtungsänderung bei gleich bleibendem Geschwindigkeitsbetrag. Die Beschleunigung in diesem Sinne ist die zeitliche Ableitung des Geschwindigkeitsvektors oder die zweite zeitliche Ableitung des Ortsvektors.

Accélération
L'accélération désigne couramment une augmentation de la vitesse; en physique, plus précisément en cinématique, l'accélération est une grandeur vectorielle qui indique la modification affectant la vitesse d'un mouvement en fonction du temps.

Acceleration
Acceleration är en fysikalisk storhet som anger förändring av hastighet per tidsenhet. Förändringen kan vara såväl positiv (ökad hastighet) som negativ (minskad hastighet) eller innebära en ändrad riktning. Vid retardation (deceleration, inbromsning) är accelerationen negativ och hastighetens belopp minskar således. Vid acceleration ortogonalt mot rörelseriktningen fås en krökt bana utan förändring av fart eller rörelseenergi. Om accelerationen i sidled är konstant blir banan en cirkel. SI-enheten för acceleration är m/s2.

Przyspieszenie
Przyspieszenie definiuje się jako pochodną prędkości po czasie (jest to miara zmienności prędkości). Przyspieszenie jest wielkością wektorową, gdzie wartość tego wektora jest równa wartości pochodnej prędkości względem czasu w danej chwili. Jeśli przyspieszenie jest skierowane przeciwnie do kierunku prędkości ruchu, to jest czasem nazywane opóźnieniem.
