Absinthe (also absinth, absenta) (English: ; French: ) is a distilled, highly alcoholic (usually 68-80%) anise-flavored spirit derived from herbs including the flowers and leaves of the medicinal plant Artemisia absinthium, also called grand wormwood or Absinth wormwood. Absinthe is typically green (either naturally or with added color) or clear and is often referred to as la Fée Verte ('The Green Fairy'). Although it is sometimes mistakenly called a liqueur, absinthe is not bottled with added sugar and is therefore classified as a liquor or spirit. Absinthe is uncommon among spirits in that it is bottled at a high proof but consumed diluted with water to the strength of wine (see Drink Preparation/Ritual).

Les spiritueux aux plantes d'absinthe sont un ensemble de spiritueux, couramment appelées simplement « absinthe », « fée verte » ou encore « la bleue ». Une bonne absinthe est légèrement amère et rafraîchissante, avec des notes épicées et florales qui font penser à la senteur d'un pré alpin, sans qu'aucune herbe n'étouffe les autres, ni dans le nez, ni dans la bouche.

Absynt (fr. Absinthe, ang. Absinthe lub Absinth) to alkoholowy napój wysokoprocentowy, otrzymywany w procesie destylacji z różnego rodzaju ziół, przede wszystkim z kwiatów i liści piołunu (Artemisia absinthium) oraz anyżu, z dodatkiem kopru włoskiego, hyzopu i innych. Absynt zaliczany jest do likierów lub wódek smakowych. Zdarza się, że jest błędnie klasyfikowany jako rodzaj nalewki, którą nie jest, ponieważ nie jest butelkowany z dodatkiem cukru.

Абсе́нт — крепкий алкогольный напиток, содержащий обычно 70% алкоголя. Важнейший компонент абсента — экстракт горькой полыни , в эфирных маслах которой содержится большое количество туйона. Именно туйон — главный элемент, благодаря которому абсент славится своим эффектом. Другие компоненты абсента: римская полынь, анис, фенхель, аир, мята, мелисса, лакрица, дягиль и некоторые другие травы.

La absenta (del latín absinthĭum, y este del griego ἀψίνθιον, apsinthion) es una bebida con alto contenido alcohólico (de hasta 89,9º) y con sabor muy parecido al licor de anís. Se trata de un compuesto con base en hierbas y flores de plantas medicinales y aromáticas, con predominio de ajenjo (denominado también madera de gusanos). Aunque a veces se la considera un licor, la absenta no contiene azúcar añadido.
