Ablaut
Ablaut (ook wel apofonie) is een begrip uit de Indo-Europese taalwetenschap. Men spreekt van ablaut wanneer verschillende klinkers in verwante woorden teruggaan op een klinkeralternantie in het Proto-Indo-Europees. De vormen die het gevolg zijn van ablaut verschillen in betekenis of gebruik.
