aberration
«action de s'écarter»; du lat. aberratio.
+
Etymology: From Latin aberrant-em "straying away," the present participle of aberrare "to go astray" comprising ab- "away (from)" + errare "to stray, wander." "ab" comes from the same root as Greek apo "away from" and English "of" and "off." That is also its remnant at the beginning of "after" from an original apo + tero. "Errare" obviously underlies our words "err," "error," and "errant." dur/sar-gardân-i (pbp.)
