Zlín (; ), from 1949 to 1990 Gottwaldov , is a city in the Zlín Region, southeastern Moravia, Czech Republic, on the Drevnice River. The development of the modern city is closely connected to the Bata Shoes company. Due to Bata's managerial excellence Zlín became famous for the company's extraordinary social scheme developed after the First World War and its modernist urbanism.

Die Stadt Zlín (deutsch Zlin genannt, 1949-90: Gottwaldov) ist mit mehr als 78.599 Einwohnern (2005) das Industriezentrum in der Region Zlínský kraj in Mähren (Tschechien). Sie erstreckt sich im Tal der Drevnice.

Zlín
Zlín, (under perioden 1949-1990 med namnet Gottwaldov), är en stad i östra Tjeckien cirka 80 km öster om Brno med cirka 79 000 invånare. Staden döptes under den kommunistiska perioden om till Gottwaldov efter den dåvarande presidenten Klement Gottwald.

Zlín (miasto)
Zlín - miasto w Republice Czeskiej, we wschodnich Morawach, 78.599 mieszkańców (2005). Od 1 stycznia 1949 do 31 grudnia 1989 nosiło nazwę Gottwaldov na cześć komunistycznego prezydenta Klementa Gottwalda.

Stolica kraju zlińskiego. Centrum przemysłu obuwniczego (przedwojenne zakłady obuwnicze Tomasza Baty). Zbudowane przed wojną od podstaw, miało realizować koncepcję idealnego miasta przyfabrycznego. Charakterystyczna zabudowa z czerwonej cegły w stylu modernizmu międzywojennego, a właściwie jego prądu funkcjonalizmu.
