Zirkumflex
Ein Zirkumflex (lat. circumflexus, soviel wie „umgebogen“, vom Altgriechischen  abgeleitet), auch französisch circonflexe genannt, ist ein diakritisches Zeichen, meist zur Kennzeichnung einer besonderen Aussprache oder Betonung eines Buchstabens. Es ist ein nach unten offener spitzer Winkel (Dach) über dem Buchstaben (z. B. â, c, ê), das graphische Gegenstück zum  Hatschek (z. B. c).
