Newton's Law of Gravity states that every mass in the universe attracts every other mass with a force proportional to the product of their masses and inversly proportional to their distance of separation squared (mM/d2). Thus if there are two masses, like the earth and the moon, then a space vehicle travelling between them will be pulled by the two masses in opposite directions. At some point (nearer the moon) the vehicle will experience no weight because the
gravitational pulls will cancel.
