Zarya (; lit. dawn), also known as the Functional Cargo Block or FGB (from the Russian "", or ФГБ), was the first module of the International Space Station to be launched. The FGB provided electrical power, storage, propulsion, and guidance to the ISS during the initial stage of assembly. With the launch and assembly in orbit of other modules with more specialized functionality, Zarya is now primarily used for storage, both inside the pressurized section and in the externally mounted fuel tanks. The Zarya is a descendant of the TKS spacecraft designed for the Russian Salyut program. The name Zarya was given to the FGB because it signified the dawn of a new era of international cooperation in space.

Zarja (På ryska Заря, som betyder Gryning.) är en trycksatt modul på den internationella rymdstationen, ISS. Namnet valdes för att symbolisera gryningen av en ny tid med internationellt samarbete i rymden.

Zarja (ros. Заря́- zachód słońca) - pierwszy moduł Międzynarodowej Stacji Kosmicznej, należący do rosyjskiej części stacji. Została sfinansowana przez Amerykanów, a zbudowana (grudzień 1994 - styczeń 1998) przez Rosjan. Zarja w początkowym okresie budowy stacji zapewniała energię elektryczną, stabilizację, manewry i komunikację, obecnie (po przejęciu jego roli przez moduł Zwiezda) pełni funkcję magazynu i zbiornika materiałów pędnych. Posiada też trzy węzły cumownicze: osiowy przedni służy do trwałego połączenia (poprzez PMA-1 z modułem Unity), osiowy tylny do trwałego połączenia z modułem Zwiezda i dolny, przeznaczony dla statków Sojuz TM i Sojuz TMA oraz transportowców Progress M i Progress M1 do czasu przyłączenia modułu SGM. Zarja została wyniesona na orbitę z kosmodromu Bajkonur przy pomocy rakiety Proton-K 20 listopada 1998 o godzinie 06:40:00.
