Zambia , officially the Republic of Zambia, is a landlocked country in Southern Africa. It borders the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the north, Tanzania to the north-east, Malawi to the east, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Namibia to the south, and Angola to the west. Formerly Northern Rhodesia, the country's name reflects the Zambezi river.

La Zambie est un pays d'Afrique australe, sans accès à la mer. Issu de la Rhodésie du Nord britannique, il fait partie du Commonwealth et sa langue officielle est l'anglais. Le pays compte 11,6 millions d'habitants (2005), la capitale est Lusaka et la monnaie est le kwacha.

Sie grenzt an Angola, die Demokratische Republik Kongo, Tansania, Malawi, Mosambik, Simbabwe, Botsuana und Namibia. Ihr Name leitet sich vom Fluss Sambesi ab. Mit der Unabhängigkeit von Großbritannien am 24. Oktober 1964 nahm sie die rechts wiedergegebenen Flagge, Wappen und Wahlspruch an.

Das Samland (russisch: semljandskij poluostrow, litauisch: Sémba, lateinisch: Sambia) ist eine historische prußische Küstenlandschaft.Es befindet sich in Preußen in der zu Russland gehörenden Exklave Kaliningradskaja Oblast. Im Süden wird es vom Pregel begrenzt und im Osten von der Deime, welche von Gwardeisk (Tapiau) nach Polessk (Labiau) verläuft und ca. 4 km weiter in das Kurische Haff mündet. An der Ostsee wird das Samland vom Kurischen Haff und vom Frischen Haff begrenzt.

Non ha sbocchi sul mare.Lo Zambia è una repubblica presidenziale nell'ambito del Commonwealth, membro delle Nazioni Unite e dell'Unione Africana e associato all'Unione Europea. L'attuale presidente è Levy Mwanawasa. La lingua ufficiale è l'inglese.
