Zal

Zāl (زال in Persian) was a mythical warrior of ancient Iran. He was born with white hair, and his name is used in Persian to refer to those who suffer from albinism. Zal was the son of Saam and the grandson of Nariman, both heroes of ancient Iran and protectors of "Iran-zamin". Because of his defect, Zal was rejected by his father who ordered his servants to leave the baby upon Mt. Damavand. The Mythical Simurgh bird, who resides upon Mt. Damavand, finds the baby and takes him to her nest where Zal lives until being reunited with his family. Soon after rejoining his family, Zal marries Rudaba; their child was the great hero Rostam.

Zal war eine mythische Sagengestalt (Kämpfer) im antiken Persien. Er war der Sohn von Saam und der Enkel von Nariman, beides Helden im antiken Persien und Beschützer Irans.Da Zal mit schneeweißem Haar geboren wurde, setzte ihn sein erschrockener Vater auf den Berg Damavand aus, wo der Säugling jedoch von dem Zaubervogel Simurg gerettet wurde. Simurg zog Zal in seinem Nest auf.Da Zals Vater Saam später unter Schuldgefühlen litt, suchte er seinen Sohn im Gebirge und nahm ihn schließlich mit Simurg Erlaubnis wieder zu sich.

Żal to negatywny stan emocjonalny spowodowany doznaną stratą. Towarzyszy mu często trudność w pogodzeniu się, że tego, co utracone już nie ma i wynikającym z tego brakiem akceptacji rzeczywistości takiej, jaka jest tu i teraz. Występuje również w postaci żalu do kogoś za wyrządzone krzywdy, niemożność pogodzenia się z realną sytuacją.
