Zagreb is the capital and the largest city of the Republic of Croatia. It is in the northwest of the country, along the Sava river, at the southern slopes of the Medvednica mountain. Zagreb lies at an elevation of approximately  above sea level. In the last official census of 2011, the population of the settlement of Zagreb was 686,568, while the total population of its administrative area was 792,875. The wider Zagreb metropolitan area includes the City of Zagreb and the separate Zagreb County with a population of 317,642, bringing the total metropolitan area population up to 1,110,517. It is the only metropolitan area in Croatia with a population of over one million.

Zagreb (; deutsch seltener auch Agram) ist die Hauptstadt und zugleich größte Stadt Kroatiens. Die Stadt Zagreb selbst hat auch die Funktionen einer Gespanschaft. Die nähere Umgebung der Stadt bildet getrennt von dieser die Gespanschaft Zagreb, deren Verwaltungssitz auch die Stadt Zagreb ist.

Zagreb (på tyska Agram, främst i bruk före 1918) är huvudstad och största stad i Kroatien. Staden har 973 667 invånare (1 093 900 i storstadsområdet) och är belägen mellan berget Medvednicas sluttningar och floden Sava. Zagreb är Kroatiens politiska, ekonomiska, kulturella och vetenskapliga centrum samt en viktig trafikknutpunkt för Kroatien och regionen i övrigt. Zagreb är en industristad med tillverkning främst inom den mekaniska sektorn samt ett betydande utbildningscentrum i landet. Staden hyser bland annat ett av sydöstra Europas största universitet som grundades år 1669.

Zagrzeb (chorw. Zagreb, wym. IPA: [ˈzɑː.greb], węg. Zágráb, niem. Agram) to stolica i największe miasto Chorwacji. Liczy 973 600 mieszkańców, aglomerację zagrzebską zamieszkuje natomiast 1,1 mln. Miasto leży na północnym brzegu rzeki Sawy, u podnóża Medvednicy. Stanowi samodzielny okręg administracyjny.
