Yorùbá religion
The Yorùbá religion comprises the indigenous religion of the Yoruba people. Its homeland is in Southwestern Nigeria and the adjoining parts of Benin and Togo, a region that has come to be known as Yorubaland. Yorùbá religion is formed of diverse traditions and has no single founder. It has influenced or given birth to thriving ways of life such as Lucumí, Umbanda and Candomblé. Yoruba religious beliefs are part of itan, the total complex of songs, histories, stories and other cultural concepts which make up the Yorùbá society.

Religion der Yoruba
Die Religion der Yoruba ist der Ursprung einer ganzen Reihe religiöser Traditionen, die heute hauptsächlich in verschiedenen Ländern Amerikas blühen. Zu diesen afroamerikanischen Religionen gehören Vodoun (Voodoo), Santería, Umbanda, Candomblé, Macumba und noch einige weitere, wobei die Grenzen sowohl untereinander als auch zum Christentum oft fließend sind. Manche sprechen aufgrund der weiten Verbreitung vor allem unter den Schwarzen vieler Länder sogar von einer „Yoruba-Weltreligion“.

Religião Yorùbá
Entende-se por Religião Yorubá, a religião do povo Yorubá que tem uma forte relação entre os mundos sobrenatural (Orun céu) e o natural (Aiye terra), que se complementam entre si.
A cidade de Ilê-Ifé é considerada pelos yorubás o lugar de origem de suas primeiras tribos. lfé é o berço de toda religião tradicional yoruba é um lugar sagrado, onde as divindades orixás funfun chegaram, criaram e povoaram o mundo e depois ensinaram aos mortais como os cultuarem, nos primórdios da civilização.
