Yigal Allon

Yigal Allon (, born October 10, 1918, died February 29, 1980), commander of the Palmach, was an Israeli politician, serving as one of the leaders of Mapai and the Alignment, acting Prime Minister of Israel, member of Knesset and government minister from the tenth through the seventeenth Knessets.Alon was born in Kfar Tavor and studied at the Kadoori Agricultural High School. As a young man he joined the Jewish Settlement Police as a police officer. In 1937 he was one of the founding members of Kibbutz Ginnosar on the Sea of Galilee. At the same time he joined the FOSH (Field Companies) of the Haganah. Later became commander of the Palmach. Following the establishment of the state of Israel, he became a Major General in the Israel Defence Force. Upon his retirement from military service, he joined Mapai, the country's leading left-wing party which later became the Alignment.

Ygal Allon (en hébreu : יגאל אלון) Né a Kfar Tavor le 10 octobre 1918, mort le 29 février 1980 à  Afula. Général et homme politique israélien de l'Akhdout Ha'avoda, puis du parti travailliste. Héros du combat de l'indépendance d'Israël, il a été le commandant du Palmach dans les annees 1945-1948. Plusieurs fois ministre, vice-premier ministre d'Israël (1969 - 1976), ministre des affaires étrangères (1974 - 1976), premier ministre intérimaire d'Israël après le décès de Levi Eshkol en 1969.

Jigal Allon (, *  10. Oktober 1918 in Kfar Tabor, Galiläa; † 29. Februar 1980 in Afula) war ein israelischer Politiker der Arbeitspartei. Er war von 1974-1977 der vierte Außenminister Israels. Nach ihm ist der Allon-Plan benannt. Allon war Mitglied des Kibbuz' Ginnossar am See Genezareth  und studierte Landwirtschaft. Später wurde er an der Hebräischen Universität in Jerusalem und am St Antony's College in Oxford ausgebildet. Seine militärische Karriere begann er als Jugendlicher in der Hagana, später wurde er Kommandeur des Palmach und kämpfte im 2. Weltkrieg auf Seiten der Briten.
