Yaverlandia
Yaverlandia is a genus of theropod dinosaur. Known from a partial fossil skull found in Lower Cretaceous strata on the Isle of Wight, it was described as the earliest known member of the pachycephalosaurid family, but recent research by Darren Naish shows it to have actually been a theropod, seemingly a maniraptoran. Yaverlandia was named from where it was found, Yaverland Point.

Yaverlandia
Le Yaverlandia est un petit dinosaure pachycéphalosaure, l'un des tout premiers de cette super-famille en fait, du début du Crétacé. Il fut découvert dans l'île de Wight en Angleterre au début des années 1930, il aura fallu attendre en 1971 pour que cette petite bête ne reçoive une description formelle. Elle n'est connue que par un crâne partiel, qui, fait inusité chez les pachycéphalosaures, comporte deux dômes.

Yaverlandia
De vondst werd in het begin van de twintigste eeuw gedaan op het eiland Wight door F.G.W. Abell, maar pas in 1971 door Galton beschreven. De geslachtsnaam verwijst naar Yaverland Point op Wight. Het fossiel bestaat uit een schedeldak met twee uitstulpingen en hiernaar verwijst de soortnaam: "met twee koepels". Yaverlandia is de vroegste bekende pachycephalosauriër met uitzondering van Ferganocephale en de enige die in Engeland gevonden is. Net als alle leden van zijn groep was het vermoedelijk een planteneter. Het dier was zo een meter lang.

Yaverlandia
Yaverlandia ("od místa Yaverland") byl teropodní dinosaurus, žijící ve spodní kríde na území dnešního ostrova Isle of Wight. Puvodne byl popsán jako bazální clen celedi Pachycephalosauridae, ale pozdejší výzkum britského paleontologa Darrena Naishe tento rod zaradil mezi teropodní (masožravé) dinosaury ze skupiny Maniraptora.
