Yamaguchi, Yamaguchi

is the capital city of Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. It is the smallest prefectural capital in Japan.In 2004 the city had an estimated population of 191,195 and a population density of 261.82 persons per km². The total area is 730.23 km².The city was founded on April 10, 1929 (1st generation), April 1, 1944 (2nd Generation), and October 1, 2005 (3rd Generation)

| Yamaguchi (山口市 ; Yamaguchi-shi) is de hoofdstad van de Japanse prefectuur Yamaguchi. Het is de kleinste van de prefectuurhoofdsteden. Op 1 oktober 2006 had de stad 192.028 inwoners. De bevolkingsdichtheid bedroeg 262,97 inw./km². De oppervlakte van de stad is 730,23 km².Vanaf 1949 heeft de stad een Universiteit. De elektrotechnische industrie is het belangrijkst voor de stad, Yamaguchi is ook bekend vanwege haar traditionele Yamaguchi Hagiyaki keramiek en de Ouchi Lakgoederen.
