Avraham Stern
Avraham Stern (Hebrew: אברהם שטרן Avraham Shtern), alias Yair (Hebrew: יאיר) (b.December 231907; d. February 121942) was the founder and leader of the Zionist terrorist organization later known as Lehi which was also known as the "Stern Gang".Stern was born in SuwałkiPoland, immigrated to the British Mandate of Palestine in 1925, and studied in the Hebrew Gymnasium in Jerusalem, and afterwards in the Hebrew University on Mount Scopus. He specialized in Classical languages and literature (Greek and Latin). He went to Florence on a scholarship in the late twenties and, during his sojourn in Italy, was deeply impressed by Fascism
