Y bzw. y (gesprochen []; in der Schweiz auch [], „Y grec“ = griechisches I) ist der 25. Buchstabe des lateinischen Alphabets und ein Konsonant. Ursprünglich war das Y kein Buchstabe des lateinischen Alphabets, sondern wurde später, nämlich zur Zeit Sullas, als 22. Buchstabe noch vor dem Z eingefügt und in lateinischen Texten nur zur Wiedergabe des Y in griechischen Lehnwörtern verwendet.

Ein Akut (lat. acutus: „spitz, scharf“), französisch: accent aigu, englisch: acute accent, ist ein diakritisches Zeichen, genauer: ein Akzent, zur Kennzeichnung einer besonderen Aussprache oder Betonung eines Buchstabens. Der Akut ist ein kurzer Strich von rechts oben nach links unten über dem Buchstaben (zum Beispiel á, é) und das symmetrische Gegenstück zum Gravis. Aus Akut und Gravis sind im frühen Mittelalter die Neumen entstanden.Seine Bedeutung variiert in den verschiedenen Sprachen, weshalb es wegen der großen Vielfalt hier nur exemplarisch dargestellt wird: Als erste (europäische) Schriftsprache verwandte das Altgriechische diese Akzentform seit dem 3. Jahrhundert v. Chr., zunächst als tonalen Akzent (Intonationsakzent), später als Betonungsakzent. Damit zählen einige Philologen das Ur-Altgriechisch zu den Tonsprachen. Man nannte diesen Akzent (oxeía) - "Schärfe, scharfe (ansteigende) Tonhöhe" von "" (oxýs) - "scharf"; "προσῳδία" (prosôdía) bedeutet wörtlich "Zugesang", hier Tonhöhe (einer Silbe). Yendri ist das Solo-Projekt der Hamburgerin Nina Cording. Ihre Wurzeln liegen im Techno-Bereich. Zwar kreiert Yendri in erster Linie Musik, zusätzlich erschafft sie unter diesem Namen auch Gemälde und Fotografie. Emotikon (ang. emoticon), uśmieszek (smile, smiley), buźka to złożony ze znaków ASCII wyraz nastroju, używany oraz nadużywany przez użytkowników Internetu. Najczęściej przedstawia symboliczny ludzki grymas twarzy, obrócony o 90° w kierunku przeciwnym do wskazówek zegara, w licznych wariantach. Niektóre programy jak np. Microsoft Word czy Gadu-Gadu zamieniają wpisane znaki na buźkę odwróconą o 90°. Niektóre programy służące do komunikacji automatycznie zmieniają emotikony na ich graficzny odpowiednik.
