Xindhi
Xindhi, in Albanian folklore, are either elf-like creatures or are actually elves; "Xindhi" are male, while the "Xindha" are female. A creaking door or a flickering flame serve as the signals for their approach. Sometimes the xindhi are friendly and helpful; generally, though, they are cruel to people.
