Wu Bangguo

Wu Bangguo (Traditional Chinese:吳邦國 , Simplified Chinese: 吴邦国, Hanyu Pinyin: Wú Bāngguó) (born July 1941) is a politician in the People's Republic of China. He is currently chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, a position which the media often refers to as "China's top legislator" and generally recognized as the third-highest in the power structure of the PRC, and second in official rankings in the party.

Wu Bangguo (; * 1941 im Kreis Feidong in der Provinz Anhui in China) ist ein chinesischer Politiker. Gegenwärtig (2004) ist er Vorsitzender des Nationalen Volkskongresses, dem Parlament der Volksrepublik China. Er steht an zweiter Stelle in der Hierarchie des Ständigen Ausschusses des Politbüros der Kommunistischen Partei Chinas.

Wu Bangguo (trad. chin. 吳邦國 , chin. upr. 吴邦国, ur. w lipcu 1941 w Feidong, Anhui), polityk chiński, działacz Komunistycznej Partii Chin, przewodniczący Stałego Komitetu Ogólnochińskiego Zgromadzenia Przedstawicieli Ludowych.Studiował nauki inżynieryjne na Uniwersytecie Tsinghua, w 1964 wstąpił do Komunistycznej Partii Chin (KPCh), dwa lata później podjął pracę zawodową w Szanghaju. Przechodząc przez kolejne szczeble kariery doszedł do stanowiska dyrektora jednej z fabryk w Szanghaju. Pełnił również liczne funkcje partyjne, początkowo na szczeblu zakładowym, potem miejskim; w 1985 został zastępcą sekretarza, a w 1991 sekretarzem Komitetu Miejskiego KPCh w Szanghaju. Od połowy lat 80. był kolejno zastępcą członka i członkiem Komitetu Centralnego KPCh, w 1992 został powołany w skład Biura Politycznego Komitetu Centralnego KPCh. W latach 1994-1997 był także członkiem sekretariatu Komitetu Centralnego.

Wu Bangguo (, geboren juli 1941, Feidong, Anhui, China) is een Chinees politicus. Hij is sinds 2003 voorzitter van het Permanente Comité van het Nationaal Volkscongres. Daarmee is hij tweede man in de hierarchie van de Communistische Partij van China.Wu Bangguo ging naar de Tsinghua Universiteit in 1960, en studeerde af in electrotechniek. Het grootste deel van zijn politieke carriëre doorliep hij in Sjanghai. Van 1991 tot 1994 was hij secretaris generaal van de partij in Sjanghai. Wu Bangguo was ook vice-premier onder Zhu Rongji.
