Wright Flyer

The Wright Flyer (often retrospectively referred to as Flyer I and occasionally Kitty Hawk) was the first powered aircraft designed and built by the Wright brothers. It was the first successful powered, piloted, controlled heavier-than-air aircraft.Much controversy persists around the many competing claims of early aviators. Die Brüder Wright, auch Gebrüder Wright genannt, Orville Wright (* 19. August 1871 in Dayton, Ohio; † 30. Januar 1948) und Wilbur Wright (* 16. April 1867 in Melville, Indiana; † 30. Mai 1912 in Dayton, Ohio) waren US-amerikanische Pioniere des Flugzeugbaus, die nach zeitgenössischer, heute jedoch nicht unumstrittener Ansicht die ersten kontrolliert gesteuerten Motorflüge der Welt nach dem Prinzip „Schwerer als Luft“ durchführten.

Flyer I to pierwszy samolot silnikowy na świecie. Autorami projektu byli Orvill i Wilbur Wrightowie. Pierwszy lot samolotu odbył się 17 grudnia 1903 r. na wzgórzach Kill Devil (Północna Karolina). Podczas 12 sekundowego lotu Flyer I, pilotowany przez Orvilla Wrighta pokonał 36,5 m. Tego dnia odbyły się łącznie cztery loty, z których najdłuższy trwał 59 sekund.

Il Wright Flyer (conosciuto anche come Flyer I e occasionalmente Kitty Hawk) fu il primo velivolo più pesante dell'aria in grado in volare, cioè il primo aeroplano a volare. Venne ideato e costruito dai fratelli Wright. È considerato da molti come il primo velivolo pilotato della storia. Il suo primo, storico volo avvenne il 17 dicembre 1903 nella spiaggia di Kitty Hawk, nella Carolina del Nord (U.S.A) e durò 12 secondi.
