WORT (89.9 FM) is a listener-sponsored community radio station, broadcasting from 118 S. Bedford St. in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. WORT offers a whole host of programming made possible by listener sponsors.WORT's FM signal reaches a roughly 50-mile radius around Madison. Wort bezeichnet eine grammatische Einheit.Der Plural von "Wort" lautet Wörter, wenn es um das Auftreten mehrerer einzelner davon geht (Das Verzeichnis enthält 100.000 Wörter.). Von Worten spricht man hingegen bei der Verwendung von Wörtern in feststehenden Zusammenhängen (Dankesworte, Grußworte, i.W.) oder geläufigen Ausdrücken (ehrliche Worte, leere Worte), bei Verwendung von Zitaten aus der Literatur (Der Worte sind genug gewechselt..., Goethe, Faust I) sowohl in eher lässiger Umgangssprache (haste da noch Worte) wie in "gehobener Sprache" als Ausdruck "gewählter Ausdrucksweise" (in wohlgesetzten Worten hob er an...). Wort bezeichnet als Kollektivum auch eine bedeutsame, kurze Aussage (Ein Wort der Weisheit, Machtwort), insbesondere wenn sie eine feste Form bilden, in die Einschübe nicht möglich sind (etwa in Sprichwort). Diese bestehen ihrerseits aus mehreren grammatikalischen Wörtern. Der Plural Worte ist hierbei obligat (Wörter der Weisheit ist ein Oxymoron). Des Weiteren bezeichnet Wort als Singularetantum – von dem hierbei kein Plural gebildet werden kann – eine Lehre (z.B. das Wort Gottes) oder ein Versprechen (z.B. sein Wort brechen).
