World Year of Physics 2005

The year 2005 has been named the World Year of Physics in recognition of the 100th anniversary of Albert Einstein's "Miracle Year," in which he published four landmark papers, and the subsequent advances in the field of physics.

Exactement cent ans après la parution des travaux révolutionnaires d'Albert Einstein, l'année 2005 a été choisie pour célébrer les sciences physiques dans le monde entier, à l'initiative de l'Union internationale de physique pure et appliquée (IUPAP) et de l'European physical society (EPS), . Sur trois thèmes fondamentaux - le quantum de lumière, la relativité et le mouvement brownien - ces travaux ont en effet ouvert la voie à pratiquement tous les développements de la physique du vingtième siècle.

Im Gedenken an Albert Einsteins annus mirabilis (1905) und seinen 50. Todestag wurde das Jahr 2005 von der Internationalen Union für Reine und Angewandte Physik und der UNESCO zum Weltjahr der Physik erklärt.In Deutschland richteten das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) und die Initiative Wissenschaft im Dialog (WiD) das Einsteinjahr aus. Weitere zentrale Akteure waren: das Max-Planck-Institut für Wissenschaftsgeschichte, die Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenschaften, die Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft, das Haus der Brandenburgisch-Preußischen Geschichte und das Einstein Forum.

ONZ uznało rok 2005 Światowym Rokiem Fizyki. Dokładnie sto lat wcześniej, w 1905 roku Albert Einstein napisał trzy prace, które stały się fundamentami fizyki współczesnej (szczególna teoria względności, mechanika kwantowa, fizyka statystyczna).W pierwszej z nich przedstawił postulat o istnieniu najmniejszej porcji (kwantu) promieniowania – fotonu. Światło potraktował jako zbiorowisko fotonów. Wytłumaczył  zjawisko fotoelektryczne. Jego praca jest podstawą mechaniki kwantowej. Później w 1921 roku dostał za to nagrodę Nobla.W drugiej pracy wytłumaczył zjawisko ruchów Browna – chaotycznego ruchu małych drobin. Praca ta (razem z pracami  Smoluchowskiego) jest podstawą teoretyczną eksperymentów, które udowodniły istnienie atomów i zdewaulowały istnienie cieplika.

L'Assemblea Generale dell'ONU, con la risoluzione 58/293 del 16 giugno 2004, ha proclamato il 2005 Anno Internazionale della Fisica nel centenario del 1905, annus mirabilis, che vide la formulazione da parte di Albert Einstein di tre dei suoi più rilevanti lavori tra i quali il più conosciuto è la teoria della relatività.
