The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is one of the 17 specialized agencies of the United Nations. WIPO was created in 1967 "to encourage creative activity, to promote the protection of intellectual property throughout the world."

Die Weltorganisation für geistiges Eigentum (, WIPO; , OMPI) wurde 1967 mit dem Ziel gegründet, Rechte an immateriellen Gütern weltweit zu fördern. 1974 wurde die WIPO Teilorganisation der Vereinten Nationen. Die WIPO ist Ausgangspunkt des Zusammenarbeitsvertrags (PCT) von 1970, des WIPO-Urheberrechtsvertrags von 1996 und des Patentgesetzvertrags von 2000.

L'Organisation mondiale de la propriété intellectuelle (OMPI) ou World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) est une institution spécialisée des Nations unies. Sa mission officielle est de stimuler la créativité et le développement économique en promouvant un système international de propriété intellectuelle, notamment en favorisant la coopération entre les Etats. Son siège est situé à Genève en Suisse.
Son directeur général depuis 1997 est M. Kamil Idris (soudanais), qui effectue son second mandat d'une durée de 6 ans. Elle emploie 850 fonctionnaires dans plus de 85 pays.

World Intellectual Property Organization, förkortat WIPO, är ett organ under FN. WIPO har medverkat till uppkomsten av ett par internationella avtal som haft stor genomslagskraft på immaterialrättens område. Bland de två mer framträdande avtalen märks WCT (WIPO Copyright Treaty) och WPPT (WIPO Performance and Producer Treaty), som båda två är tilläggsprotokoll till Bernkonventionen för skydd av litterära och konstnärliga verk.

Światowa Organizacja Własności Intelektualnej (ang. World Intellectual Property Organization, skrót WIPO) jest jedną z 16  organizacji wyspecjalizowanych ONZ siedzibą w Genewie. Zajmuje się koordynacją i tworzeniem regulacji dotyczących systemu ochrony własności intelektualnej, a także świadczeniem pomocy prawnej i technologicznej.
