Wind

This article is about the WIND spacecraft. For the radio station, see WIND (AM). WIND (SOLARWIND) was a NASA spacecraft launched on November 1, 1994. It was deployed to study radio and plasma that occur in solar wind, in the Earth's magnetosphere. The spacecraft's original mission was to orbit the Sun at the L1 Lagrangian point, but this was changed when the SOHO spacecraft was sent to the same location.

Wind is the flow of air. More generally, it is the flow of the gases which compose an atmosphere; since wind is not only an Earth based phenomenon.Winds are commonly classified by their spatial scale, their speed, the types of forces that cause them, the geographic regions in which they occur, or their effect.There are global winds, such as the wind belts which exist between the atmospheric circulation cells. There are upper-level winds which typically include narrow belts of concentrated flow called jet streams. There are synoptic-scale winds that result from pressure differences in surface air masses in the middle latitudes, and there are winds that come about as a consequence of geographic features, such as the sea breezes. Mesoscale winds are those which act on a local scale, such as gust fronts. At the smallest scale are the microscale winds, which blow on a scale of only tens to hundreds of meters and are essentially unpredictable, such as dust devils and microbursts.

Hawkwind est un groupe de rock britannique des années 1970, qui a la particularité d'avoir produit des disques de manière continue depuis sa création jusqu'à nos jours. Le pivot du groupe est Dave Brock, le seul membre présent dans tous les disques. Actuellement, les musiciens qui l’accompagnent le plus souvent sont Alan Davey et Richard Chadwicket Jason Stuart, clavièriste (depuis 4 ans membre d'hawkwind à part entière), décédé le 8 septembre 2008. Dans les deux premières décennies, ce fut Simon King, Dik Mik, Robert Calvert, Harvey Bainbridge, Del Dettmar, Simon House (ex High Tide, violoniste de David Bowie sur la tournée Stages) , Huw Lloyd Langton, Terry Ollis et Nik Turner (parmi d'autres, tels que Tim Blake (Gong), Ginger Baker (Cream)...) . Lemmy, le fondateur de Motorhead, y a joué entre 1972 et 1975, date à laquelle il fut renvoyé d'Hawkwind, sous la pression de certains membres, après avoir été arrêté en possession d'amphétamines à la frontière canadienne ; alors que la dernière chanson qu'il écrivit pour Hawkwind s'appelait Motorhead il partit créer son propre groupe. Parmi les membres importants, seul Robert Calvert est décédé.

Le vent est un mouvement de l’atmosphère. Il peut apparaître sur n’importe quelle planète disposant d’une atmosphère. Ces mouvements de masses d’air sont provoqués par deux phénomènes se produisant simultanément : un réchauffement inégalement réparti de la surface de la planète par l’énergie solaire et la rotation de la planète.

Als Wind (althochdeutsch "wint"; zu indogermanisch "ue" ['wehen', 'blasen']) wird in der Meteorologie eine gerichtete stärkere Luftbewegung in der Atmosphäre bezeichnet. Es ist ein physikalischer Vorgang. Winde mit Windstärken zwischen 2 und 5 haben die Bezeichnung Brise. Winde mit Windstärken zwischen 6 und 8 bezeichnet man als Wind mit den Abstufungen starker, steifer und stürmischer Wind. Bei Windstärken ab 9 spricht man von einem Sturm. Winde mit der Windstärke 12 bezeichnet man als Orkan. Eine heftige Luftbewegung von kurzer Dauer bezeichnet man als Bö. Auf der Erde beträgt die maximale theoretische Windgeschwindigkeit ca. 1230 km/h (Schallgeschwindigkeit) - diese wird auch im stärksten Tornado nicht erreicht. Die bisher höchsten gemessenen Geschwindigkeiten um 500-650 km/h traten bisher nur bei  Jetstreams auf.

Wiatr - poziomy lub prawie poziomy ruch powietrza względem powierzchni ziemi. Wiatry są zazwyczaj wywołane różnicą ciśnienia atmosferycznego. Termin wiatr jest używany w meteorologii prawie wyłącznie na określenie horyzontalnej składowej wiatru. Istnieje jednak składowa pionowa wiatru i wtedy jest tak nazywana. Wiatr może wiać z obszarów wyższego ciśnienia do obszarów niższego ciśnienia, ale w średnich szerokościach geograficznych, ze względu na siłę Coriolisa, wiatr wieje zazwyczaj równolegle do linii takiego samego ciśnienia (wiatr geostroficzny). Wiatr jest jednym ze składników pogody, w tym celu podaje się prędkość wiatru (w m/s lub km/h) i kierunek, z którego wieje. Należy zachować uwagę przy używaniu terminologii kierunku wiatru: meteorolodzy pod nazwą wiatry zachodnie rozumieją wiatr wiejący z zachodu, podczas gdy "zachodni prąd oceaniczny" to prąd płynący na zachód (czyli różnica o 180 stopni w definicji kierunku).

Wind (parola inglese che significa vento) è un'azienda italiana di telecomunicazioni. Per numero di abbonati è il terzo operatore italiano di telefonia cellulare (18,3 el mercato) e, con il marchio dell'acquisita Infostrada, il secondo di telefonia fissa. Il vento è un fenomeno naturale che consiste nel movimento ordinato, quasi orizzontale, di masse d'aria dovuto alla differenza di pressione tra due punti dell'atmosfera. In presenza di due punti con differente pressione si origina una forza detta forza del gradiente di pressione o forza di gradiente che agisce premendo sulla massa d'aria per tentare di ristabilire l'equilibrio. Il flusso d'aria non corre in maniera diretta da un punto all'altro, cioè con stessa direzione della forza di gradiente, ma subisce una deviazione dovuta alla forza di Coriolis che tende a spostarlo verso destra nell'emisfero settentrionale e verso sinistra nell'emisfero meridionale. A causa di questo effetto il vento soffia parallelamente alle isobare. In questo caso si parla di vento geostrofico. Tuttavia alle basse quote (meno di 600 m) è necessario tenere anche conto dell'azione dell'attrito con la superficie terrestre che è in grado di modificare, la direzione del vento di circa 10° sul mare e 15-30° sulla terra rispetto a quella del vento geostrofico, rendendo il percorso dall'alta pressione alla bassa pressione più diretto. La velocità del vento, o meglio la sua intensità, dipende dal gradiente barico, cioè dalla distanza delle isobare, e si misura con uno strumento chiamato anemometro e può essere espressa in:m/skm/hnodi
