Willem Barentsz (, anglicized as William Barents or Barentz) (c. 1550 – 20 June 1597) was a Dutch navigator, cartographer, explorer, and a leader of early expeditions to the far north.

Willem Barents
Willem Barents (niederländisch Willem Barentsz (Abkürzung von Barentszoon, Barents Sohn, aus der Zeit, als es Familiennamen noch nicht gab); * um 1550 auf der Insel Terschelling im Dorf Formerum; † 20. Juni 1597 nahe Nowaja Semlja) war ein niederländischer Seefahrer und Entdecker des späten 16. Jahrhunderts.

Willem Barents
Willem Barents (ou Wilhem Barentz) (né en 1550 ?, à Terschelling, Frise, Pays-Bas - décédé le 20 juin, 1597, en Nouvelle-Zemble, Russie) était un navigateur et explorateur néerlandais, pionnier des expéditions dans les eaux du Grand Nord.

Willem Barents
Willem Barents (nederländsk namnform: Barentsz eller Barentszoon), född omkr. 1550 på ön Terschelling i Nederländerna, död 20 juni 1597 i närheten av ön Novaja Zemlja, Ryssland, var en nederländsk upptäcktsresande vid slutet av 1500-talet.

Willem Barents
Willem Barents (hol. Willem Barentsz, ur. ok. 1550, zm. 20 czerwca 1597) — holenderski żeglarz i podróżnik. Od jego nazwiska pochodzi nazwa Morza Barentsa i Wyspy Barentsa.
W 1594 wyruszył z Amsterdamu na dwóch statkach. Popłynął na północny wschód, licząc, że odnajdzie morskie przejście prowadzące do Azji. Dotarł do Nowej Ziemi, lecz z powodu złych warunków atmosferycznych musiał zawrócić.
Rok później, w 1595, wyruszył z kolejną ekspedycją, w skład której wchodziło tym razem siedem statków. Drogę zagrodziły mu lody.
