Wichita State University Crash

On October 2, 1970 a Martin 404 aircraft flown by Golden Eagle Aviation crashed near Silver Plume, Colorado. It was one of two planes carrying the Wichita State University football team to Logan, Utah for a game with the Utah State University. The plane took off from Wichita, Kansas for Logan, Utah with a stop in Denver, Colorado. The plane crashed shortly after take-off from Denver. The National Transportation Safety Board report lists the probable cause to be that the pilot made improper decisions in-flight or in planning.
