Warhammer 40,000

Warhammer 40,000 (informally known as Warhammer 40K, WH40K, W40K or just 40K) is a science fantasy game produced by Games Workshop. The game depicts combat between the armies of the fictional universe of the 41st millennium using 28 mm scale (approximately 1:65) miniature figurines which represent futuristic soldiers, creatures and vehicles of war. Lines of these miniatures are produced by Games Workshop and Forge World, and are available at their brick-and-mortar and online stores. There are currently eleven rival factions to choose from. The ethos is well summed up by the game's subtitle slogan: "In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war."

Warhammer 40000, znany szerzej jako Warhammer 40k lub WH40k, (angielski zapis liczbowy Warhammer 40,000) – to uniwersum stworzone przez brytyjską firmę Games Workshop.Jest to świat science fiction charakteryzujący się mroczną, gotycką atmosferą. Jego centralnymi i najbardziej popularnymi postaciami są Kosmiczni Marines – futurystyczna wersja fantastycznych rycerzy, najlepsi wojownicy Imperium - totalitarnej, zdegenerowanej ludzkiej cywilizacji.Warhammer 40000 powstał na bazie innego świata stworzonego przez Games Workshop - Warhammera - zapożyczając z niego wiele elementów. W pierwotnych edycjach sugerowano, że świat Warhammera jest jedną z planet w uniwersum WH40K. Z czasem Games Workshop odeszło jednak od tego pomysłu. Takie nawiązania wciąż obecne są w niektórych książkach wydawanych przez GW, jednak według twórców gier z obu tych światów nie są one kanoniczne.

Warhammer 40.000 (conosciuto anche come Warhammer 40K o semplicemente WH40K) è un wargame tridimensionale futuristico, prodotto dalla inglese Games Workshop. È incentrato su un'ambientazione futuristica che prende ispirazione dal libro Fanteria dello spazio. Il gioco ruota intorno a miniature in scala 28mm (1:65, originariamente le miniature erano in 20-25mm) prodotti dalla Citadel Miniatures, che rappresentano soldati, creature e macchine da guerra. Il gioco richiede una elementare comprensione della tattica e fortuna.
