A multicenter study established in 1993 to research the impact of HIV infection in women. The study’s ultimate goal is to gain a better understanding of and provide adequate support for women who are currently HIV infected or who are at risk for HIV infection. The study is jointly supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Estudio multicéntrico, conocido como Women's Interagency HIV Study ó WIHS en inglés, establecido en 1993 para investigar el efecto de la infección por el VIH en las mujeres. Su meta final es entender mejor a las mujeres actualmente infectadas por el VIH o expuestas a riesgo de esa infección y proporcionarles el apoyo necesario. El estudio recibe apoyo conjunto de los Institutos Nacionales de la Salud (National Institutes of Health, NIH) y los Centros para el Control y la Prevención de Enfermedades (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, CDC).
