Volos

Volos (Greek: Βόλος, Ottoman Turkish: Golos) is a city situated at the center of the Greek mainland, about 326 km north from Athens and 215 km south from Thessaloniki. It is the capital of Magnesia prefecture.

Vólos ( , osmanisch: Golos) ist eine griechische Hafenstadt und Gemeinde (Dimos) am Pagasitischen Golf in der Region Thessalien und Hauptstadt der Präfektur Magnisia (Magnesien). Sie hat 85.001 Einwohner (2001). In der Agglomeration Volos, welche neben der Stadt Volos auch die Gemeinde Nea Ionia umfasst, leben 207.000 Einwohner.
