Vijnana
Vijñāna (Sanskrit: विज्ञान) or viññāna (Pāli: विञ्ञान) is translated as "consciousness" or "life force" or simply "mind". It can also be translated as "divided knowing", in contrast to Jnana. This article considers the Buddhist concept primarily in terms of Early Buddhism's Pali literature as well as the literature of other Buddhist schools.
