Vermont

Vermont is a state in the New England region of the northeastern United States of America. The state ranks 45th by total area, and 43rd by land area at 9,250 square miles, and has a population of 608,827, making it the second least populous state (second only to  Wyoming). The only New England state with no coastline along the Atlantic Ocean, Vermont is notable for the Green Mountains in the west and Lake Champlain in the northwest. It is bordered by Massachusetts to the south, New Hampshire to the east, New York to the west, and the Canadian province of Quebec to the north.

Le Vermont est un État du nord-est des États-Unis. Il est bordé au nord par la province canadienne du Québec, à l'est par le New Hampshire, le Massachusetts au sud et l'État de New York à l'ouest. C'est le seul État enclavé de la Nouvelle-Angleterre, c'est-à-dire qu'il ne s'ouvre pas sur l'océan Atlantique. Il se singularise par l'homogénéité de sa population et par son taux d'urbanisation très faible des « vertes montagnes ».

Il Vermont è un piccolo stato degli USA, situato nel New England. Il nome deriva dal francese e significa Monte Verde, proprio come la catena delle Green Mountains che attraversa lo stato. Lo stato figura in 45a posizione come superficie e in 49a posizione come popolazione (608.827), tra i 50 stati dell'Unione, ed è l'unico stato del New England a non affacciarsi sull'Oceano Atlantico. Il Vermont confina con il Massachusetts a sud, il New Hampshire ad est, New York ad ovest, e il Canada a nord (Quebec). La capitale dello stato è Montpelier, mentre la città più grande è Burlington.
