"Veda" redirects here. For other uses, see Veda (disambiguation). The Vedas (Sanskrit   "knowledge") are a large corpus of texts originating in Ancient India. They form the oldest layer of Sanskrit literature and the oldest sacred texts of Hinduism. According to Hindu tradition, the Vedas are "not human compositions", being supposed to have been directly revealed, and thus are called śruti ("what is heard"). Vedic mantras are recited at Hindu prayers, religious functions and other auspicious occasions. Philosophies and sects that developed in the Indian subcontinent have taken differing positions on the Vedas. Schools of Indian philosophy which cite the Vedas as their scriptural authority are classified as "orthodox" (āstika). Two other Indian philosophies, Buddhism and Jainism, did not accept the authority of the Vedas and evolved into separate religions. In Indian philosophy these groups are referred to as "heterodox" or "non-Vedic" (nāstika) schools.

Le Véda (devanāgarī : वेद - sanskrit : « connaissance », « qui a été vu ») est un ensemble de textes (appelés « Véda ») de la religion indo-aryenne, issus de la Shruti, Révélation à l'origine du védisme, religion mère de l'hindouisme. Les hindous pensent que les Véda existent depuis toujours, et pour toujours, se transmettant de bouche à oreille, de brahmane en brahmane, et les considèrent comme la « connaissance révélée ». Les Écritures sacrées de l'hindouisme (Véda) comprennent : Samhitâ, Brâhmana, Âranyaka, Upanishad, Rig-Véda, Yajur-Véda, Sâma-Véda, Atharva-Véda.

Mit Veda (Sanskrit, m., वेद, veda, wörtl.: „Wissen“) werden im Hinduismus die heiligen Schriften bezeichnet. Den Kern des Veda bilden die Texte der Shruti, das sind von Rishis (Weisen) „gehörte“ Texte, also Offenbarungen. Da es sich um heilige Texte handelt, deren exakte Rezitation wichtig war, wurden sie mit großer Genauigkeit mündlich überliefert. Das Wissen durfte nur an auserwählte Schüler weitergegeben werden. Erst um das 5. nachchristliche Jahrhundert wurden sie niedergeschrieben. Noch heute gibt es Brahmanen, die die Veden auswendig können. Die Bedeutung des Veda ist auch heute noch sehr groß.

Wedy, Weda (z sanskrytu वेद "wiedza"; podobieństwo tych słów wynika ze wspólnego, indoeuropejskiego pochodzenia sanskrytu i języka polskiego) - to święte księgi hinduizmu, najstarsza grupa religijnych tekstów sanskryckich, które stanowiły całość ówczesnej wiedzy człowieka o świecie ludzi i bogów; antologia tekstów z różnych okresów, o różnej tematyce, budowie i przeznaczeniu. Wedy to teksty z grupy śruti ("objawienie", dosłownie "to, co usłyszane"), czyli prawda o świecie, która istniała od zawsze; nie była tworem ludzkim, lecz jedynie została objawiona riszim - wieszczom-poetom. Pierwsza osoba, która otrzymała tą wiedzę to Brahma, pierwsza stworzona żywa istota w naszym wszechświecie. Brahma z kolei udzielił jej swoim synom i uczniom w nieskażonej postaci, tak jak początkowo otrzymał ją od espansji Wisznu, Garbhodakaśaji.

I Veda sono un'antichissima raccolta di opere sacre di estrema importanza presso la religione induista, che consistono essenzialmente in canti rituali e recitazioni le quali hanno lo scopo di vitalizzare e spiritualizzare ogni fase della vita e dell'attività dell'uomo. Si ritiene che siano il Testo sacro più antico che sia pervenuto ai giorni nostri.
