Val d'Aran

The Aran Valley (; ; ) is a small valley (620.47 km²) in the Pyrenees mountains and a comarca (county) in the northwestern part of  Catalonia, which is a region of Spain. It is the source of the Garonne, and one of the highest valleys of the Pyrenees. Most of the valley constitutes the only Catalan territory on the north face of the Pyrenees, hence the only part of Catalonia whose waters drain into the Atlantic Ocean. The region is characterized by an Atlantic climate, due to its peculiar orientation, which is different from other valleys in the area.

L’Aran ou le val d’Aran (en occitan gascon: Aran / la Vath d’Aran / era Val d’Aran, en catalan la Vall d’Aran, en espagnol el Valle de Arán) est une vallée de langue occitane, située en Espagne, dans les Pyrénées. La Garonne y a sa source (avant de se prolonger en France par le Comminges). C'est officiellement une comarque de la région Catalogne qui a reçu un statut de semi-autononomie en 1990. L'Aran est depuis cette date le seul territoire d'Occitanie où l'occitan est langue officielle (conjointement avec le catalan et l'espagnol).

Das Val d’Aran (amtliche aranesische Bezeichnung; katalanisch Vall d’Aran, spanisch Valle de Arán, deutsch Arantal) ist ein Tal im Herzen der spanischen Pyrenäen an der Grenze zu Frankreich. Als einziger Teil des spanischen Staatsgebietes liegt es nördlich des Hauptkamms der Pyrenäen. Es bildet heute eine Comarca mit Sonderstatus innerhalb der spanischen Autonomen Region Katalonien. Das Gebiet um Baqueira-Beret im Val d’Aran ist eines der größten Wintersportgebiete der Pyrenäen und ganz Spaniens.

Val d’Aran [], kat. Vall d’Aran [] – comarca w północnej Katalonii w Pirenejach. Obejmuje obszar doliny Aran (skąd nazwa) i część doliny Barravés. Jest jedynym fragmentem terytorium Katalonii należącym do zlewiska Oceanu Atlantyckiego; ma tu źródło główna rzeka Gaskonii – Garonna. Stolicą i największą miejscowością jest Vielha.

La Val d'Aran (nome ufficiale in occitano, nella sua variante aranese; in catalano: Vall d'Aran; in castigliano: Valle de Arán) è una delle 41 comarche della Catalogna, con una popolazione di 9.219 abitanti; suo capoluogo è Vielha e Mijaran.Amministrativamente fa parte della provincia di Lleida, che comprende 13 comarche.
