Vadstena

Vadstena is a town in the Swedish province of Östergötland and the seat of Vadstena Municipality, Östergötland County.The city of Vadstena is above all noted for its two artifacts of Swedish history: It was in Vadstena, in 1350, that Saint Bridget of Sweden founded the first monastery of her  Bridgettine Order. And the Vadstena Castle is one of Sweden’s best-preserved castles from the era of Gustav Vasa in the 16th century.

Vadstena est une petite ville sur la rive gauche du lac Vättern en Suède, dans la province d'Östergötland. Elle est peuplée de habitants et est le chef-lieu de la commune de Vadstena. C’est dans cette ville que, en 1350, sainte Brigitte de Suède a fondé le premier couvent de l’ordre de Sainte-Brigitte. Centre historique avec un château ; église et maisons du Moyen Âge.
