Vaala

For the district of Turku, see Vaala, Turku.Vaala is a municipality in Finland. It is located in the province of Oulu, Kainuu region. Established in 1954 (predecessor municipality Säräisniemi, established in 1867), the population was 3,751 as of 2004. The municipality covers an area of 1,765 km² of which 446 km² is water. The population density is 2.8 inhabitants per km².
