Viz
Viz (also "viz.", with a period) and videlicet are adverbs used today as synonyms of "namely, precisely, that is to say". Videlicet is
Latin for "one may see; clearly, evidently", while viz is a
corrupted abbreviation of the former. They introduce a specification or a more detailed description of something stated before; often, as with a
syntactical-descriptive colon, this is a list. Though both forms survive in many
modern languages, viz is far more common in English than videlicet. Viz is traditionally read aloud as "namely" or "to wit", not phonetically as . In writing, it is now usually followed by an unnecessary
period (see below).

Viz is a popular
British adult
comic magazine that has been running since 1979.At its best, the comic's style parodies the strait-laced British comics of the post-war period, notably
The Beano and
The Dandy, but with incongruous language, crude
toilet humour,
black comedy and either
sexual or
violent story lines. It also sends up
tabloid newspapers, with mockeries of articles and letters pages. It features
competitions and
advertisements for overpriced 'limited edition' tat, as well as obsessions with half-forgotten celebrities from the 1970s and 1980s such as
Shakin' Stevens and
Rodney Bewes. Occasionally it satirises
current events and
politicians, but has no particular political standpoint. Its success has led to the appearance of numerous rivals crudely copying the format Viz pioneered; none of them has managed seriously to challenge its popularity. It once enjoyed being the third most popular magazine in the UK, but circulation has since dropped to just over 300,000 (from 1.2 million). This is mainly because its comic remit has become broader and its format more commonplace, but also partly due to the fact that price has increased sharply to £2.80 and it is now published 'monthly' ten times a year.

anglais, pour Simian immunodeficiency virus) est un
rétrovirus ayant de nombreuses souches et touchant exclusivement les
primates non-humains. Ce virus est responsable du Syndrome d'immunodéficience acquise du singe (SIDAS), qui n'apparaît que lors du franchissement de la barrière des espèces, les souches naturellement présentes chez une espèce n'entraîne aucune maladie chez cette dernière.

kroatische Insel in der
Adria. Sie ist 90,3 km² groß (Länge 17 km, Breite bis 8 km). Vis liegt rund 60 km vom Festland entfernt und hat ca. 3500 Einwohner. Die größten Ortschaften sind
Vis und
Komiža. Gemeinsam mit ihrer kleineren Nebeninsel
Biševo ist sie die am weitesten von der Küste des
kroatischen Festalands entfernt liegende bewohnte Insel. Ein rund 18 km breiter Meeresarm trennt sie von
