He was known for having given humanity the powers of speech and their external senses. According to Loki, in Lokasenna, he had an affair with Odin's wife, Frigg.

Dans la mythologie nordique, Vé (Véi,IngwaR, Hoenir, Freyr : sacré, sanctuaire, en vieux-norrois) et son frère Vili (volonté) sont des dieux, fils de Bur et de la géante Bestla, et frères d'Odin. L'ancienneté de la triade des trois Ases (Odin, Vili et Vé) est attestée par l'allitération des trois noms Wodan (autre nom d'Odin) / Vili / Vé. Ces divinités succedèrent  Tuisto et Jord et sont l'une des premières évolutions dans l'élaboration du panthéon nordique.

We (altnordisch: Vé) steht am Anfang der germanischen Mythologie. Odin, Vili und Vé erschaffen gemeinsam die Welt aus dem Urriesen Ymir. Der Name bedeutet soviel wie „Weihe“ oder „Heiligtum“.Die Silbe Vé kommt in der Skaldendichtung und in den Ortsnamen im Zusammenhang mit heiligen Plätzen oder Dingen vor. (z. B. vébont)

Lodur ist ein in der Lieder-Edda und ein nur in der Voluspa genannter germanischer Gott. Öfter jedoch taucht er unter dem Namem Loki auf. Man kann allerdings nicht davon ausgehen, dass er mit dem Vé der Prosa-Edda identisch ist. Odin ging zusammen mit Lodur und Hönir am Strand entlang, dort fanden sie zwei Baumstämme (Ask und Embla), "ledig der Kraft" (Genzmer). Diesen Bäumen gaben sie die menschlichen Eigenschaften: Seele, Verstand und (vermutl.) die Sinne.

Ve (Wiho in germanico) era uno degli Æsir, figlio della gigantessa Bestla e Borr nella mitologia norrena. I suoi fratelli erano Víli e Odino. È conosciuto per aver dato all'umanità la parola e i sensi. Secondo Loki, nel poema Lokasenna, ebbe una relazione con la moglie di Odino, Frigg.Nel poema eddico Völuspá sono Hœnir e Lóðurr ad aiutare Odino a creare i primi esseri umani (Askr ed Embla). Invece, nel Gylfaginning sono menzionati Víli e Ve. È comunque possibile che Lóðurr fosse un altro nome per Ve.
