Uznam

This article is about the island. For the town, see Usedom (town). Usedom ( , ) is a Baltic Sea island on the border between Germany and Poland. It is situated north of the Szczecin Lagoon (, ) estuary of the Oder  river in Pomerania. Most of the island belongs to the German district of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Ostvorpommern with the exception of the eastern part and the city of Świnoujście  which is in Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Its area is 445 km²; the German part 373 km², the Polish part 72 km². Its population is 76,500; (German part 31,500; Polish part 45,000).

Usedom en allemand ou Uznam en polonais est une île côtière appartenant en partie à l'Allemagne et en partie à la Pologne. Elle est située entre le golfe de Szczecin et la mer Baltique. Sur une superficie totale de 445 km², 373 se trouvent en Allemagne et 72 en Pologne.

Usedom (polnisch Uznam, wendisch: Uznjöm/Uznjom) ist eine Insel in der Ostsee vor dem Stettiner Haff, welche zum größeren Teil zum deutschen Bundesland Mecklenburg-Vorpommern gehört. Der östliche Teil der Insel ist polnisches Staatsgebiet. Weiter östlich schließt sich die Insel Wollin an.

Uznam (niem. Usedom, pom. Ùznôm) –  wyspa przybrzeżna na Bałtyku na pograniczu Polski (powiat grodzki Świnoujście, województwo zachodniopomorskie) i Niemiec (powiat Ostvorpommern, Meklemburgia-Pomorze Przednie), zamykająca od północnego zachodu Zalew Szczeciński.Powierzchnia 445 km², z czego w Polsce około 72 km²; silnie rozczłonkowana, z licznymi półwyspami. Od lądu stałego oddziela wyspę cieśnina Peenestrom, od wyspy Wolin –  Świna, natomiast od końca XIX wieku sztucznie wykonany Kanał Piastowski oddzielił od Uznamu wyspę Karsibór. Najwyższym szczytem jest Golm (59 m n.p.m.), położony przy granicy po niemieckiej stronie, tuż przy świnoujskiej dzielnicy Wydrzany.

Usedom (Pools Uznam) is een eiland in de Oostzee voor het Oderhaf. Het grootste deel behoort tot de Duitse deelstaat Mecklenburg-Voor-Pommeren. Het oostelijke deel van het eiland is Pools staatsgebied.
