Utraquist

See "Utraquist school" for a kind of bilingual schools Utraquism (from the Latin sub utraque specie, meaning "in both kinds") was a dogma first proposed by Jacob of Mies in 1414. It maintained that the Eucharist should be administered "in both kinds" — as both bread and wine — to all the congregation, including the laity. (The practice at the time was for only the priests to partake of the wine).

Die Kalixtiner (auch Calixtiner von lateinisch calix, der Kelch), zuletzt Utraquisten (für sub utraque) genannt, waren eine Partei der Hussiten. Ihre von Jan Rokycana 1420 in den Vier Prager Artikeln aufgestellten Forderungen umfassen die freie Predigt, den Laienkelch, die Säkularisation des Kirchengutes, sowie die strenge Kirchenzucht im Klerus. Die Kalixtiner fanden Unterstützung im Adel und Bürgertum. In den Prager Kompaktaten (in manchen Veröffentlichungen auch Basler Kompaktaten genannt) wurde ihnen 1433 das Abendmahl in beiderlei Gestalt zugestanden. Schon 1462 erklärte Papst Pius II. die Kompaktaten für ungültig.

Utrakwiści - pierwotnie określenie wszystkich husytów, później umiarkowany ich odłam z głównym ośrodkiem życia religijnego w Pradze.Utrakwiści rekrutowali się z mieszczaństwa i rycerstwa. W odróżnieniu od radykalnych ruchów husyckich stawiali na umiarkowaną społecznie i politycznie reformę kościelną.
