Urban exploration

Urban exploration (often shortened as urbex or UE) is the examination of the normally unseen or off-limits parts of human civilization. Urban exploration is also commonly referred to as infiltration, although some people consider infiltration to be more closely associated with the exploration of active or inhabited sites. In the USA, it may also be referred to as "draining" (when exploring drains) "urban spelunking", and "urban caving", "vadding", "trolling", "building hacking", "reality hacking" or "roof and tunnel hacking".

L'exploration urbaine ou urbex est une activité consistant à visiter des lieux, abandonnés ou non, et en général interdits d'accès, ou tout du moins d'accès difficile. L'explorateur urbain apprécie la solitude des espaces situés en-dehors des zones d'activité et de passage conçues comme telles : ainsi, la visite guidée de la nef d'une cathédrale sera remplacée par l'exploration nocturne de ses toits, les usines abandonnées deviennent un terrain de jeu, etc.

Urban Exploring bzw. Stadterkundung ist die private Erforschung von Einrichtungen des städtischen Raums. Oftmals handelt es sich dabei um das Erkunden alter Industrieruinen, aber auch Kanalisationen, Katakomben, Dächern oder unzugänglicher Räumlichkeiten noch genutzter Einrichtungen. Der Begriff wird jedoch durchaus auch für die Erkundung zugänglicher Orte wie Parks verwendet.

Urban exploration (często skracane do urbex lub UE - eksploracja miejska) to badanie zazwyczaj niewidocznych lub niedostępnych części ludzkiej cywilizacji. Urban exploration jest także często nazywane infiltracją, jednakże panuje opinia, że infiltracja jest bardziej związana z eksploracją czynnych lub niezamieszkanych miejsc. W Stanach Zjednoczonych używa się także terminu draining (od drain - kanał ściekowy - eksploracja właśnie kanałów), speleologia miejska (ang. urban spelunking), urban caving, vadding, hackowanie budynków (ang. building hacking), hackowanie rzeczywistości (ang. reality hacking), hackowanie dachów i tuneli (ang. roof and tunnel hacking).

Urban exploring, urbex of UE is het doorzoeken van producten van onze beschaving die voor de meeste normale mensen niet toegankelijk zijn.De term Urban exploring is Engels en betekent letterlijk 'het onderzoeken van het urbane (=stedelijke)', maar het kan zich net zo goed op het platteland afspelen.Urban exploring wordt beoefend door Urban explorers.
