University of Nebraska–Lincoln
The University of Nebraska–Lincoln, often called UNL, but also known as Nebraska or NU, is the flagship institution of the University of Nebraska system. UNL was founded in 1869 as a land-grant university under the provisions of the Morrill Act. It is located in Lincoln a few blocks north of the Nebraska State Capitol. The University has two campuses: City Campus, which is the university's main campus, and East Campus, which was originally purchased for use as the university farm. The University is a member of the Association of American Universities and is listed as a Carnegie Research I institution.
