United States government

The federal government of the United States is the United States governmental body that carries out the roles assigned to the federation of individual states established by the Constitution. The federal government has three branches: the executive, legislative, and judicial. Through a system of separation of powers or "checks and balances," each of these branches has some authority to act on its own, some authority to regulate the other two branches, and has some of its own authority, in turn, regulated by the other branches. In addition, the powers of the federal government as a whole are limited by the Constitution, which leaves a great deal of authority to the individual states.

Le  Gouvernement des États-Unis, établi par la Constitution, est celui d'une République fédérale d'États souverains. Le Droit des États-Unis est défini par les résolutions du Congrès (en particulier le United States Code et le Uniform Code of Military Justice), les décrets, et la jurisprudence. Le gouvernement fédéral est composé de trois branches: l'exécutif, le législatif et le judiciaire. Par le système de séparation des pouvoirs (nommé historiquement checks and balances soit "de contrôle et d'équilibre"), chacune de ces branches possède une part d'autorité pour ses propres actions, quelque autorité de régulation sur les deux autres branches et voit en échange son autorité régulée par les deux autres branches.

Die Bundesregierung der Vereinigten Staaten (englisch Federal government of the United States) bezeichnet nach der Verfassung der Vereinigten Staaten die Regierung der Bundesebene der Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika, einer föderalen Republik von Bundesstaaten und Territorien. Das Bundesrecht der Vereinigten Staaten besteht aus Bundesgesetzen, Verwaltungsakten, und der Rechtsprechung. Die Bundesregierung besteht selbst aus drei separaten Zweigen: Exekutive, Legislative, und Judikative. Durch ein System der Gewaltenteilung (checks and balances) hat jeder dieser Zweige die Möglichkeit und Aufgabe, eigenständig zu arbeiten, als auch auf die anderen Zweige kontrollierend einzuwirken.
