United Paramount Network

UPN (which originally stood for the United Paramount Network) was a television network that broadcasted in over 200 markets in the United States and that was in production for over eleven years. UPN was owned by CBS Corporation, which also owns the more widespread CBS network. Its first night of broadcasting was January 16, 1995. UPN shut down on September 15, 2006, and merged with The WB to form The CW Television Network.
